     Help Wanted!!

    IBEW Local 531 is looking for helpers to assist on the Dunns Bridge Solar project in Jasper County, Indiana.  This project is a total of 700 Megawatts, consisting of 2.4 million solar panels, and spans approximately 4900 acres.  It will kick off in the Fall of 2021 and will take approximately 2.5 years to complete.  This project will require many highly trained and skilled IBEW Local 531 electricians to install this cutting-edge technology to support our power grid.   Because of the size and scope of this project, IBEW Local 531 has unprecedented membership opportunities which will employ hundreds of community residents.   Hiring will begin in August and will continue through the length of this project as needed.  Apply Now!!


    Membership Opportunities and Benefits

    Solar energy is one of the fastest-growing industries in America, with a 167% job increase over the past decade.  Between 2014 and 2019, solar employment has increased 44%, five times faster than job growth in the overall U.S. economy.  There are over 240,000 people currently employed doing solar work, with projections of major growth in the future.  We have a unique opportunity to enter the main stage of the solar industry while offering good-paying jobs for our community residents.  

    Because of the size and scope of this project, IBEW Local 531 will need a number of helpers to assist the skilled electricians of IBEW Local 531.  This opportunity will allow many community residents to work on this project alongside the highest-skilled electricians in the area.  This is also a long-term project, lasting approximately 2.5 years starting the Fall of 2021.  We are looking for energetic and motivated people that are interested in becoming members of IBEW Local 531 and being involved in this growing solar industry with us. 

    Job duties will include, but not limited to:

    • material handling

    •  assembly of solar panel posts and brackets

    •  installing solar panels

    • and assisting Journeyman electricians

                                                 We are looking for individuals who are:

    • 18 years of age or older

    •  be able to lift over 50 lbs

    • like working outside

    •  can pass a drug test

    •  has reliable transportation.
