Brian J. Rust Scholarship:
Background Information
This scholarship was founded in honor of Brian J. Rust. He was a second generation IBEW Local 531 member, whose life tragically came to an end while at work on January 28, 2000. He left behind his wife and two daughters. We felt that naming the scholarship after Brian would be a great way to memorialize his legacy as a loving husband, father and exceptional electrician. He will never be forgotten in our local!
The Brian J. Rust Scholarship Foundation was created on January 15th 2009, for the children and grandchildren of IBEW L.U. 531 members. Since that time we have been raising funds so that we can start awarding scholarships. Our hope through this scholarship is to help the educators, engineers, doctors, scientists and leaders of tomorrow that may come from Local 531 families.
