This is a reminder that there is a Union Meeting tonight at 7 pm at the JATC located at 301 e. 8th St. in Michigan City. We will not be serving pizza or refreshments and we ask that all who attend to please wear a mask and maintain social distancing as per Governor Holcomb's Stage 5 Back on Track Plan. This plan does remove size limitations for social gatherings and meetings but still requires face coverings and social distancing of at least 6 feet. Due to the size of our meeting space at the Union Hall, we must still hold our meetings at the JATC to accommodate the social distancing requirement of the Stage 5 plan. The exact language in the plan is as follows:
SIZE LIMITATIONS ARE REMOVED FOR SOCIAL GATHERINGS AND MEETINGS •
A social gathering or meeting is an event, assembly, or convening that brings together multiple people, individually or from separate households, in a single space, indoors or outdoors, at the same time and in a coordinated fashion where a significant purpose is to interact with others – such as a wedding, family reunion, party, barbecue, picnic, club, banquet or conference •
Attendees at any such gathering or meeting are required: • To wear a face covering in public spaces • To be seated 6 feet apart from persons who are not in the same household or cohort • Provide hand sanitizer or hand-washing areas •
Those 65 and older and those who are medically high risk should not attend; those who do should be extremely cautious as they are particularly susceptible to death from COVID-19 • Those who are sick, symptomatic or have tested positive for COVID-19 should not attend
We all look forward to having meetings back at the Union Hall. As soon as we can safely, and lawfully, hold a meeting here at the hall, we will. I appreciate your understanding and cooperation. See you tonight and if you can't make it, have a great weekend!
