    • Welcome

As you know, Election Day is November 5th.  Attached is a list of candidates running for various offices in our jurisdiction.  Your leadership has vetted these candidates and found them to be allies of IBEW local 531 and will support our core principles.  Many of these candidates are incumbents and have already supported us in either supporting pro-labor issues, or helped defeat anti-labor bills at the State House.  IBEW 531 is a one-issue organization.  We don’t get involved in the social issues that often dominate the news and social media.  We focus only on workers rights, collective bargaining, securing our pensions, labor-friendly ordinances, etc.  We focus on policy and not party.  We will, and do, support anyone who supports us, regardless of political party they belong to.  If you do not see a particular race listed, we have either decided to remain “neutral” in this race, or, there is not an opposing candidate, and the election was decided in the Primary.  This list is not intended to tell you who to vote for, but as a list of candidates we feel will support our issues.  www.ibewlocal531.org/2024endorsements

Zenith, our 3rd party pension administrator, has come out with a new portal that makes it much easier to check your pensioin status. This is called Participant Edge and is accessible from our website under "Important Links" or an app can be downloaded from the App store.  This will make it much easier to see how many hours are being reported each month, your current vested monthly benefit, and status of your pension application.  This is a great way to make sure your hours are being reported correctly so that if there was a problem, it would be easy to fix.  It is much easier to fix a reporting problem when it happens versus something from a year ago.  See the attached flier for all of the information you will need to download the app and create your account.  You can also watch a short video explaining this in more detail here https://youtu.be/3HKqCYWb8yU Download: Participant Portal Get Started 052024.pdf
