Obituary for Florian James Mareska
On Sunday, May 9th, 2021, Florian Mareska, loving husband, brother, and grandpa, passed away at age 72.
Florian was born on November 28, 1948 in Knox, IN to James and Rose (Mazurek) Mareska. On November 4, 1966, Florian married the love of his life Marie (Wright) Mareska. They raised a son, Jim Mareska, and a daughter, Jackie (Mareska) Fisher.
His love for Marie was showcased each and every day. Florian and Marie were able to spend an adventurous and loving 55 years together. Florian and Marie were a great example of true love. Florian was a proud member of the Electrical Union for 53 years. He had a passion for International and Case tractors and was known to be able to fix and restore just about anything with the help of his son. He enjoyed his afternoon walks down the two acres with Marie, Squirt, and Snickers. He was a grandfather of 5 and a great grandfather of 2. One of his greatest joys was being a Grandpa and he has the “Best Grandpa” shirts to prove it.
Florian is survived by his wife, Marie and his son Jim (Michelle) Mareska of Hanna, IN; 5 grandchildren: Samantha, Andrew Fisher, Sarah, Cassy, and Ashley Mareska; brother: John Mareska of LaPorte, IN. Florian was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, brother, Joe Mareska, and sister, Floraine Mareska. Arrangements are being handled by O'Donnell Funeral Home, 302 Lane St, North Judson, IN. A Celebration of Life will be held at O'Donnell Funeral Home, Saturday May 15th, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
