Call Your State Legislators

Tell Them: “Strengthen, Don’t Repeal, Indiana’s Common
Construction Wage Act”

What’s the Problem?
 State Legislators in Indianapolis are considering a bill to repeal the Common
Construction Wage Act.

What is the Common Construction Wage Act?

 It is a state law that requires contractors to pay wages on state and local
construction projects that reflect the local construction market.

 It provides a level playing field for all contractors by requiring out-of-state
contractors to pay local wage rates.

Why Does It Matter to You?

 Your Wages with Union Contractors are based on the Common Construction
Wage Act. Repeal of the Common Construction Wage Act will give an unfair
advantage to out-of-state, non-union contractors who use low-wage workers.
This will result in a significant loss of wages and work hours for YOU.

How Can You Help Save the Common Construction Wage Act?

 Call both your State Senator and State Representative and tell them:
“Strengthen, Don’t Repeal, the Common Construction Wage Act. “

 For Your State Representative, call 1-800-382-9842. Tell them where you live
and they will connect you with your State Representative.

 For Your State Senator, call 1-800-382-9467. Tell them where you live and they
will connect you with your State Senator.
